Broadcast Journalism and Meteorology Career
Heather Tesch began her career in broadcast journalism with roles in Georgia, Corpus Christi, and Brunswick, Texas. She later transitioned to meteorology, joining WXPT-TV and then WGME-TV in Portland, Maine. She continued to build her career with a two-year tenure at WGAL-TV in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, before moving to WCCO-TV in Minneapolis.
In January 1999, Tesch joined The Weather Channel (TWC), where she remained for nearly 14 years. She left TWC in 2012, when the network was sold and cut about 7 percent of its workforce. She is a certified meteorologist and holds the American Meteorological Society (AMS) Seal of Approval, recognizing her professionalism and credibility in the field.
