Holly Sonders, born Holly Niederkohr on March 3, 1987, in Marysville, Ohio, is an American sportscaster known for her work in golf broadcasting. Her parents are Sandy Niederkohr and Dan Niederkohr. From a young age, Sonders showed a keen interest in golf, often playing with neighborhood friends. Of white ethnicity and American nationality, Sonders has become a recognizable figure in sports media, especially in golf-related broadcasting.

Education and Collegiate Sports

Sonders graduated from Michigan State University in 2009. She completed her high school education in her hometown, where she was actively involved in sports. In high school, she played numerous sports, including baseball and basketball. On the girls’ basketball team, she served as the starting point guard for four consecutive years. However, a knee injury ultimately redirected her career path from competitive athletics to sports broadcasting.

Broadcasting Career in Golf

Holly Sonders began her professional broadcasting career with the Golf Channel, where she co-hosted notable programs such as Morning Drive and School of Golf. Her insightful commentary and strong television presence quickly gained public recognition. She later joined FOX Sports, where she continued her career as a sports host and reporter, including covering golf events for the network.

Highly regarded for her sports knowledge and on-screen charisma, Sonders has twice appeared in the American Junior Golf Association and reached the round of 16 in the 2007 Women’s Western Amateur. That same year, she played a key role in helping Michigan State University win the Big Ten Championship. Golf Digest has featured her on the cover of its fitness issue, and Golf.com has named her among the “Most Beautiful Women in Golf” on multiple occasions.
