Gifted Hugo Weaving was born on April 4 1960 at the University of Ibadan Teaching Hospital in Nigeria Protectorate but spent his child days in South Africa and England. He studied The Downs School, Wraxall in England. Later, his family went to Australia in 1976, where he got admission Knox Grammar School in Sydney, from where, he received his high school graduation degree.
