At the age of 18, Rebbie made the decision to marry her childhood sweetheart, Nathaniel Brown. Their marriage on November 30, 1968, sparked tension within the Jackson family. While her mother supported her choice, her father opposed it, believing that early marriage could limit her opportunities in show business.
Despite these familial conflicts, Rebbie enjoyed a long and stable marriage. She and Nathaniel Brown had three children: Stacee, Yashi, and Austin Brown. Stacee later gave birth to Rebbie’s first grandchild, further extending the close-knit family. Produced in collaboration with her brother Tito Jackson, it included tracks that charted modestly and helped solidify her place in the music world. In 1988, she released her third album, R U Tuff Enuff, featuring the moderately successful single "Plaything."
