Alexander developed an interest in acting during her high school years, although she originally took it up for fun. Due to her inability to sing, she did not participate in her school's theater program and instead focused on athletics, even joining the school wrestling team.

Entry into Acting

At age 17, Alexander attended a scouting agency meeting in place of a friend. There, she met manager Randy James, to whom she gave a copy of her scripts. After graduating from Colleyville Heritage High School, she moved to Los Angeles about a year and a half later to pursue an acting career.

Early Roles and Breakthrough

Alexander began her professional acting career in 2003, landing the lead role of Hanna Thompson in the independent film The Other Side, directed by Gregg Bishop. Initially reluctant to audition for the part, she agreed to read with male actors. Impressed by her performance, the director cast her in the lead role, and the film later received acclaim as an award-winning project.

Her second role came in the film Squirrel Trap, where she played Sara, the love interest of the main character, David. She followed this with a guest appearance on the television show It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, portraying the femme fatale Tammy. She also had a minor role in an episode of the series Standoff.

Notable Television and Film Roles

Jaimie Alexander is widely recognized for portraying Jessi in the science fiction TV series Kyle XY. She also gained prominence for playing the Asgardian warrior Sif in Marvel’s superhero films Thor (2011) and its sequel Thor: The Dark World (2013), as well as reprising the role in the TV series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

In 2015, Alexander began starring as Jane Doe in the NBC crime drama Blindspot, which further solidified her reputation as a talented and versatile actress.
