Jacob Edward Peavy famous as Jake Peavy was born on 31st May 1981in Mobile, Alabama, U.S.A. He is an active team member of San Francisco Giants of Major League Baseball (MLB). Early life, Draft and Minor Leagues:

Peavy graduated from St. Paul’s Episcopal High School, whilst in school in the 15th round of the Major League Baseball Draft he was drafted by San Diego Padres in 1999. In the State of Alabama Peavy was announced as the player of the year. He accepted the Padres contract offer instead to pitch for Auburn University.

In 1999 Peavy pitched for Arizona League Padres and Idhao Falls Braves while in 2000 for Fort Wayne Wizards. Peavy played all the year 2002 for Bay Bears. On 22nd June 2002 Peavy made first debut in the San Diego Padres for Major league Baseball.

Personal life:

In 2000 when Peavy was 19 years old he got married to his childhood friend Katie Alford. The couple lives in their hometown of Semmes, Alabama with their four boys. Peavy has to wear corrective lenses without which he is legally blind. Peavy is Christian and been interviewed on religion as he is very outspoken in the matter. “outsider” is the word engraved in a tattoo on Peavy’s forearm.

Professional Career and Achievements:

Peavy height is 6’1” while his weight is 195 Pounds. In 2007 with the evidence of pitching Triple Crown while playing with Padres Peavy won NL CY Young Award. In year 2013 Red Sox won World Series title as Peavy was playing for them after being traded from White Sox. After a year of wining title for Red Sox Peavy won the World Series title as he was traded to San Francisco Giants. Winning those both title consecutively for two different teams and in two different League Peavy became the first starting pitcher in Major League. In his career Peavy was the leader of Major League Baseball twice in the year 2004 and 2007.

Peavy was awarded with the Gold Glove Award in 2012. He was also announced as all-time Strikeouts leader for San Diego Padres.

Peavy played for San Diego Padre for seven years which is 2002-2009, he was then affiliated with Chicago White Sox from 2009-2013, Boston Red Box was the next team Peavy was the member for just one year i.e 2013-2014. Peavy started playing for San Francisco Giants from 2014 whilst entering in two-year contract which worth $24 million.

All around his career Peavy wore shirt endorsed with number 44, he wore shirt no 43 only when no 44 was retired in the honour of Willie McCovey. In the middle of season 2014 when he was struggling he changed his number from 44 to 22. The professional Starting pitcher Peavy according to Major League statistics has 147-117 win-loss record. His Earned Run Average (ERA) is 3.54; he has 2,108 strikeouts and 1.18 WHIP.
