Jaleel White biography

Jaleel White was born on November 27, 1976 in Pasadena, California as Jaleel Ahmad White. He is known as an actor and writer. He is most famous for his role as Steve Urkel on the popular 90s African American sitcom called Family Matters. His other big roles were Big Fat Liar (2002) and Sonic the Hedgehog (1993).

Jaleel become a child star when he reached millions of people on television during ABC’s TGIF lineup on Fridays. He played a super nerd named Steve Urkel that would terrorize his neighbors with his clumsy personality and odd behavior. When he first wanted to audition for the show in 1989, he was searching for trademark nerd glasses that had tape around the center of the frame. He had trouble finding it until his father, a working dentist gave him a pair of glasses that he personally used at work to avoid particles. Those glasses would become the signature of Steve Urkel.
