James Marsters

James Marsters is known as an American actor, musician, and voice actor. He is most famous for his role as the English speaking vampire Spike in The WB series Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the spin-off show, Angel.

James Wesley Marsters was born on August 20, 1962 in Greenville, California. For his high school education, James graduated from Davis High School. He developed a passion for acting and made the move to attend acting schools like Juilliard, the Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts, and the American Conservatory Theatre.

Acting Career

After a decade of performing on the stage, he finally made a move to Los Angeles. He felt that his home state of California was the best place from to pursue a career in the film and television industry.

He got several guest roles when he started but he finally got his big break in 1996 as the vampire, Spike in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The character was originally supposed to be killed after only a few episodes but Spike became so popular with the fans. The producers decided to keep his character on the show because they didn’t want to deal with negative fan backlash and felt that James could evolve the character.
