Personal life

Related Biography: Reece Topley

James Cullum Tredwell is a well known cricketer of English origin. He was born on February 27, 1982. Interestingly, James has been nicknamed Pingu Tredders by his friends and fellow cricketers. James is known for his left handed approach while batting on the cricket field. However, in case of bowling, he is right handed. Throughout his career, James stuck to playing domestic cricket rather than international version.

He plays for a world renowned country cricket association, called the Kent County Cricket Club. James joined the club as a strong but amateur young cricketer, aspiring to reach new heights and set fresh records. He played his first match for the club in the 2001 season of the tournament. His extraordinary talents and immense hard work eventually did pay off when the directorial board of the Kent Cricket Club decided to appoint James as the Country captain on November 19, 2012. James was preceded by another very talented player, Robert Key.

Career

With many years of vigorous practice, James managed to become one of the best all-rounders in the field of domestic cricket and managed to secure a total net worth of almost 20 million American dollars, all due to his consistent effort in the sport. He became a very common name in both short and long format of the sport.

In the year 2007, while playing for the county championship, he scored his first century. This was against the Yorkshire. He was one of the players of the winning team during the twenty-twenty world cup in the year 2007. Although his performance was remarkable in every season he played, his best season till date would still be that of 2009. In this particular season, he took a total of 69 wickets, all first class. This was also the season when he delivered the best bowling figure of his career. This victory was against the Glamorgan.

In the year of 2009-10, James was offered a part in the English team, which was about to tour South Africa. He was considered as a replacement for Graeme Swann, another equally talented player in the club. His first debut in the test cricket was with the second test his team played against Bangladesh. During first inning itself, his bowling figure was 2-99 while his runs were 37. In the second inning, he managed to take 4-22 and got his team an easy victory. James was even selected in the English cricket squad for the Australian cricket tour.

However, he got to perform in one game only, which was the second one day international. His figures in this game were a mere 0-44 and the team had to taste defeat by forty six runs. He also performed in the quarter final match but it was a sheer disaster. He got himself a poor figure of 0-38, that too in six overs. This led to England being kicked out of the tournament. On July, 2012, he got a second chance to face the already strong Australian cricket team. This, however, turned out to be a good match for him as he secured a victory against Australia by a total of seven wickets and an impressive figure of 2-23.
