Jeon Jung-kook is a South Korean singer, songwriter, and record producer known for being the lead vocalist for the boy band BTS. BTS, sometimes referred to as the Bangtan Boys, is a seven member band formed by the South Korean entertainment company, Big Hit Entertainment. In 2018, BTS became number one on the Forbes Korea Power Celebrity list, which is a ranking of the most powerful and influential celebrities. BTS are estimated to bring in over three and a half billion dollars to the South Korean economy per year. Jeon Jung-kook, also known as Jungkook, was born on September 1, 1997, in Busan, South Korea. Jungkook auditioned for the South Korean competition show Superstar K in 2011. He was not accepted to the show but was able to get a job as a trainee at Big Hit Entertainment.
