Joan Cusack was born in 1962, October 11 in the city of New York. Her mother named Ann Paula is a math teacher and her father, who has passed away, was an actor. Joan has two brothers and two sisters. Her brother John and her sister Ann are also actors.

Career

The first time Joan appeared on the screen was in 1980 in a movie My Bodyguard where she plays a role of Shelley. She and her brother John both appeared in 10 same movies including Sixteen Candles, High Fidelity, Martian Child, Class and several others. Joan also did some voice acting. Her most memorable part is voicing a character in both Toy Story 2 and Toy Story 3 called Jessie. She also appeared in Stephen Chbosky's movie The Perks of Being a Wallflower where she played Dr. Burton.

Joan has done plenty of movies and TV shows but her most recent memorable role is playing Sheila Jackson on Showtime's critically acclaimed comedy drama series Shameless. Cusack is a mother of Karen Jackson on the show. Originally the role was supposed to be played by a different actressAllison Janney but she had to pull out because of her other commitments. Joan received quite a few nominations for her portrayal of Sheila. The actress has also made appearances in other great television series like Law & Order and The Office.

Besides her work on movies and TV shows, Joan Cusack is also the voice of Abby Mallard in Chicken Little video game and a voice of Jessie in a couple of video games about  Pixar's Toy Story.

Personal life

Joan Cusack is married to Richard Burke. Her husband is a lawyer and a president of VISANOW Global Immigration. The spouses have two sons, Miles, and Dylan. Cusack currently resides in Chicago, Illinois.

Despite the fact that she has a Twitter account, Joan is not a very active person on social media front unlike her brother John.

A 53-year-old American actress had a great career in both television and movies. She is a really recognizable person in the industry and it is hard to forget her roles in both TV and cinema.
