In 1955, Joan Rivers married James Sanger, but the marriage was annulled just months later when she learned that he did not want children. A decade later, in 1965, she married producer Edgar Rosenberg. Together, they had one daughter, Melissa Rivers, born in 1968. Melissa would go on to work alongside her mother in television, particularly in fashion commentary and reality programming.
