Roseanne Cherrie Barr is an American actress, comedian, writer, and producer who gained widespread fame through her groundbreaking work in television comedy. She was born on November 3, 1952, in Salt Lake City, Utah. At the age of sixteen, Barr suffered a traumatic brain injury after being struck by a car. The injury led to an extended hospitalization, including a period of institutionalization lasting approximately eight months. In 1970, she left home to visit friends in Colorado and ultimately chose not to return.

The following year, in 1995, Barr married Ben Thomas, her former personal security guard. The couple had one son, Buck, who was conceived through in-vitro fertilization. Barr and Thomas remained together until 2002. After their separation, Barr began a long-term relationship with Johnny Argent. The two currently live on a macadamia nut farm on the Big Island of Hawaii.
