Jocelyn Elise Crowley is a Professor of Public Policy at Rutgers University, The State University of New Jersey. She serves as a member of the Graduate Faculty in the Department of Political Science and is also an affiliate faculty member in the Department of Women's and Gender Studies.
Her most recent research, funded by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, examines mothers' organizations across the United States and the intersection of parenting challenges, public policy, and workplace flexibility. This work culminated in the publication of her book, Mothers Unite! Organizing for Workplace Flexibility and the Transformation of Family Life, released by Cornell University Press in 2013.
Jocelyn Elise Crowley has written extensively on family law and public policy, with a specific focus on motherhood politics. Among her notable works is the book The Politics of Child Support in America, published by Cambridge University Press. In addition, her book Defiant Dads: Fathers' Rights Activists in America examines the fathers’ rights movement in the United States.
She has contributed to several edited volumes on international fathers' rights movements and published numerous scholarly articles in peer-reviewed journals, including the American Journal of Political Science, Social Science Quarterly, and Review of Religious Research.
