Jonathan Bailey was born in 1988 in Wallingford, Oxfordshire, England. He is the youngest of four children and has three older sisters. Bailey developed an interest in acting at an early age, declaring at just five years old that he wanted to be an actor after watching a stage production of Oliver!.

Early Acting Career
Bailey began his acting career with a role in the ITV series Bramwell. He went on to appear in a range of television series and films, showcasing his versatility as an actor. One of his early comedic roles included playing a sports-enthusiast student in the Channel 4 sitcom Campus.
Breakthrough Roles and Television Success
In 2011, Bailey was cast as a young Leonardo da Vinci in the CBBC series Leonardo. His performance brought him greater recognition, followed by a leading role opposite Sarah Alexander in the BBC comedy series Me and Mrs Jones.
Bailey also starred as reporter Olly Stevens in the acclaimed ITV drama Broadchurch. In 2014, he appeared in an episode of Doctor Who during its eighth season, portraying the character PSI in the episode titled “Time Heist.”
Stage Acclaim and Theatre Contributions
In 2012, Bailey was nominated for an Evening Standard Theatre Award for Outstanding Newcomer for his role in David Hare's play South Downs. He later took on the role of Tim Price in the acclaimed stage adaptation of American Psycho at London’s Almeida Theatre, further establishing his reputation within the theatre community.
