Joshua Michael Homme was born in Joshua Tree, California, on May 17, 1973. He was brought into the as the child of Irene and Michael Homme. His father was a private general contractor who constructed houses around the Coachella Valley. He has an older sibling named Jason. His last name comes from the Norwegian town of Valle. He additionally has English, French-Canadian, German-Jewish, and Swedish ancestry in his family tree.

He experienced childhood in a notable family in and around Palm Desert, California. His grandfather, Cap, had moved to the region from North Dakota and was an early pioneer of the Coachella Valley. Cap has a private road named after him in Rancho Mirage, denoting the first street to the Homme farm, just as a recreation center named after him in an elite enclave of the Coachella Valley.

Career

Josh is a very talented and versatile musician. In his band, Queens of the Stone Age, he sings, plays guitar, occasionally plays the playing piano, drums, and bass. He additionally fills in as the band's main songwriter.
