Joss Stone, born Joscelyn Eve Stoker, is an English singer, songwriter, and actress. Although her birth name is Joscelyn Eve Stoker, she is widely known by her stage name, which she prefers. Born in Dover, Kent, she spent most of her adolescence in Ashill, a small village near Cullompton in Devon. Stone is the second youngest of four siblings. Her father ran an import-export business dealing in fruits and nuts, while her mother worked as a store manager until October 2004.
