Killing Spree

Karla pulled in large amounts of media exposure when she was indicted for homicide following a plea deal in the 1991 and 1992 rape murders of two Ontario adolescent young women, Leslie Mahaffy and Kristen French, just like the rape and passing of her sister, Tammy.

Homolka and her husband, Bernardo were captured in 1993. In 1995, Bernardo was indicted for the two teenagers’ homicides and got a life in jail sentence. He was also given a dangerous offender designation. For his crimes, he got the greatest sentence permitted in Canada. Amid the 1993 examination, Homolka expressed to agents that Bernardo had abused her and that she had been a reluctant associate to the killings. Subsequently, she hit an arrangement with the examiners for a diminished jail sentence of 12 years in return for a guilty plea to the charge of manslaughter. Homolka scored 5/40 on the Psychopathy Checklist, as opposed to Bernardo's 35/40. She wants the public to think that she had no intentions in the murders she took part of but the court still gave her a partial sentence.
