Kevin Cronin

Kevin Cronin is the lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist, and occasional pianist for the American rock band REO Speedwagon. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, REO Speedwagon scored numerous hits on the Billboard Hot 100, including two chart-topping singles written by Cronin: "Keep on Loving You" (1981) and "Can't Fight This Feeling" (1982).

Kevin Patrick Cronin was born on October 6, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois. He spent most of his childhood days growing up in Oak Lawn. He has a brother named Sean Cronin, who grew up to become a weatherman and a politician. Kevin did his primary schooling at Brother Rice High School.

Career and Net Worth

Kevin Cronin got his first break at the very young age of twenty when he was selected as the second lead singer of the band REO Speedwagon in the year 1971. The rock band released their debut album that year with Terry Luttrell as their lead singer. Terry exited the band after the release of the first album and was replaced by Kevin Cronin.

Kevin went on to do one album with REO Speedwagon titled R.E.O. /T.W.O. in the year 1972. He, too, exited the band shortly after the launch of the album due to some conflicts. Mike Murphy then replaced him as the lead singer who recorded their third album named Ridin' the Storm Out and two more albums. Kevin Cronin came back again in 1976 and replaced Murphy as the lead singer of the band. The rock band REO Speedwagon gained immense popularity in the early 1980s. Kevin has written many songs for the band, and most of these songs have been a massive hit. Their album Hi Infidelity was released in 1980 and became one of the biggest hits that year after it sold a million copies out. Songs written by Kevin include The Key, Tough Guys, Can't Stop This Feeling, Here With Me, Don't Let Him Go, In My Dreams, Time for Me to Fly, Music Man, Keep Pushin, and Movin.

In 1977, Kevin and Gary assumed control over the band's production. From that point forward, Kevin has been an enthusiastic frontman, writing a large number of the band's most famous tracks, including their first top 40 hits, Roll With The Changes, and their first number one, Keep On Loving You. Kevin Cronin is the only member of the rock band REO Speedwagon who is still performing various events. In 2008, he participated in the show Don't Forget the Lyrics in one of its celebrity episodes. He was able to win $350,000 but ultimately lost because he could not remember the lyrics of Donna Summer's song Last Dance.

In recent years, he was seen as part of an infomercial that publicizes Ultimate Rock Ballads and plays many tracks of his band, REO Speedwagon.
