Kim Khazei was born at her hometown in Massachusetts in the United States of America. She has a brother, Alan.
Beginnings
She attended the University of Missouri-Columbia, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism Broadcasting. The following will be a short version of her biography.
Journalism
She is a journalist. Her work started when she landed a job in Columbia, Missouri in the NBC affiliated station KOMU TV. In that station, owned by the University of Missouri, she had her first job in television journalism. Her second venture was a four year experience as an anchor in KQTV. This television station located in St. Joseph, Missouri is affiliated with ABC and is owned by Nexstar Broadcasting Group. After that, in 1985, she went to Champaign, Illinois. There she worked for other NBC affiliated channels for a year.She later became an anchor and speaker for the KOVR-TV. For that she shifted to Sacramento, Chicago in 1997.
Later, in 1994, she moved to Boston, Massachusetts and there she started to work for Channel 7. The station was at the time under the management of the private broadcasting company the Sunbeam Television Corporation. She began her work as a Co host for the 7 NEWS Morning Edition, 7 NEWS at Noon, alongside Co host Cathy Marshall, and as a contributing reporter for the Channel 7's Healthcast.She made a stop in her career in 2001 when she resigned to spend more time with her family. She returned to her job as an anchor and presenter six years later; that way she resumes her work at the 7NEWS at the station WHDH-TV.
Special Coverage
Among her remarkable activities, there is her coverage of the economic impact that the Persian Gulf War had on Egypt and Persian. Even before that, she reported from Israel, while the war was still happening. She also covered the JF Kennedy plane crash for the week it lasted. She also reported the natural disasters that happened in Texas and San Francisco, respectively: the Hurricane Gilbert and the Loma Prieta Earthquake. She had grown with great interest in medicine thanks to her father, a cardiovascular surgeon. This interest paid off when she was awarded for her health orientated specials Someone You Should Know and “Ask the Doctor”.
In July of 2009 she covered the arrest of Henry Louis Gates, Jr. The arrest of this Harvard University professor in his home in Cambridge, Massachusetts made by sergeant James Crowley became a media scandal. She continued to follow this news when she made a coverage of President Barack Obama’s Beer Summit. The Beer Summit was a symbolic peaceful reunion to which the President invited both parties, sergeant James Crowley and professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr., along with the Vice President Joe Biden.
Charity
She has done charity work for many nonprofit organizations such as the Public School’s Mentoring Program and the Big Sister Program.
Family
Her husband, Scott A. Huff, is a graduate from Bowling Green State University. She married him after having been an item for a long time. They had three children together, two sons and a daughter. Tatum, Walker and Hayden respectively. The five of them live in Winchester, Massachusetts. On another note, she joined Twitter back in 2009. There she is up to date with constant news and information. Making her wall like a second news station to that of 7 News.
