Background and Age

Barack Hussein Obama II was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on August 4, 1961. His father left not long after his introduction to the world, and the couple separated from each other two years later. In 1965, Dunham married Lolo Soetoro, a University of Hawaii student from Indonesia. After a year, the family moved to Jakarta, Indonesia, where Obama's stepsister, Maya Soetoro Ng, was born in 1970. A few occurrences in Indonesia left Dunham apprehensive about her child's security and education. At 10 years old, Obama was sent back to Hawaii to live with his maternal grandparents. His mom and relative later went along with them.

While living with his grandparents, Obama enrolled in the regarded Punahou Academy. He exceeded expectations in basketball and graduated with scholastic distinctions in 1979. As one of just three black students at the school, he wound up aware of bigotry and what it meant to be African-American. Obama entered Occidental College in Los Angeles in 1979. Following two years, he moved to Columbia University in New York City, graduating in 1983 with a degree in political science. He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law in 1991.

In the wake of moving on from Columbia University as a student, Obama worked in the business sector for a long time. He moved to Chicago in 1985, where he worked on the ruined South Side as a network coordinator for low-salary occupants in the Roseland and the Altgeld Gardens people group.

Barack Obama met Michelle Robinson, a youthful legal counselor who was assigned to be his consultant at the Chicago law office of Sidley Austin. Not long after, the couple started dating. On October 3, 1992, he and Michelle were married. They moved to Kenwood, on Chicago's South Side. Barack and Michelle Obama invited two little girls into the world quite a while later. Malia was born in 1998 and Sasha was born in 2001.
