After Growing Pains had ended, he became a star of the sitcom Kirk. Starting in 1995, it went on for two years. In this show, Kirk Hartman was responsible for raising his siblings, a just and moral character worthy of his ideals. Still, he went back to playing his previous role from Growing Pains by acting in both movies, The Growing Pains Movie and Growing Pains: Return of the Seavers. In 2006 the cast reunited once more to have a special appearance on CNN’s Larry King Live in conjunction with Warner Bros. Two years later, in 2008, Kirk appeared in Fireproof. Grossing 600% in profit, the movie was a blockbuster hit. It became the highest grossing independent film of 2008.

In 2012 Kirk narrated the documentary film Monumental: In Search of America’s National Treasure which stayed in theaters for three months before grossing $177,729. In 2013 Kirk announced that he would be the host of the film Unstoppable to premiere September 24 which was blocked by Facebook which the company, later on, claimed it was due to an error in the system instead of the religious content Kurt had declared. In 2014, he starred in the Christian themed comedy film Saving Christmas awarded 2014 Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Picture and Worst Screenplay. He also won the award for both Worst Actor and Worst Screen Combo which they claim he won with his ego.

Working with Cloud Ten Pictures, Kirk starred in many Christian themed movies. Best known for the Left Behind movie, he starred in its sequels, Left Behind II: Tribulation Force and Left Behind: World at War and The Miracle of the Cards.

Kirk serves as a partner of Evangelical Christianity to help train Christians in evangelism. He and Ray Comfort founded the ministry, The Way of the Master. He hosts two shows under the same name, and they have been awarded National Religious Broadcasters’ Best Program Award for two years in a row.

In 2012, Kirk was honored by Indiana Wesleyan University and inducted him into their Society of World Changers. Nominated for two Golden Globe Awards, Kirk has won awards eight awards for acting. Awarded Young Artist Awards for Growing Pains 1986-1987, Saturn Awards Like Father, Like Son 1987, People’s Choice Awards for Favorite Young TV Reporter of 1988 and again in 1989 and awarded Kid’s Choice Awards, Favorite TV Actor for Growing Pains. Kirk’s net worth is 20 million dollars.
