Keneti James Fitzgerald "KJ" Apa was born on June 17, 1997. Apa was born in Auckland as the child of Keneti and Tessa Apa. His father is Samoan and a chief of his town in Samoa. Apa’s mom is an European New Zealander. He has two older sisters in his family tree.
He went to secondary school at King's College in Auckland before setting out on his acting career.
Career
Along with his Riverdale fame, Apa also starred as Kane Jenkins in the primetime soap opera Shortland Street in a run from 2013 to 2015. He also had the role teenage Ethan Montgomery in the comedy-drama film A Dog's Purpose in 2017. The film was released on the exact day that Riverdale debuted on television.
Apa was given a role as Archie Andrews in the CW drama series Riverdale, following a four-month audition search.
After the success of Riverdale, Apa's next film role was supplanting Kian Lawley in The Hate U Give.
