Early Life and Education

Kristin Davis, also known as Kristin Lee Davis or Kristin Landen Davis, was born in 1965 in Colorado, United States. She is an American actress best known for her roles on television and film. Her parents divorced when she was an infant. She was later adopted by her stepfather, Keith Davis, a professor at the University of South Carolina, after he married her mother, who worked as a university data analyst. Kristin has three stepsisters from her adoptive father's previous marriage.

Davis spent much of her childhood in South Carolina, where her father taught at the University of South Carolina. From a young age, she showed an interest in acting and performed in local theater productions, including a Workshop Theatre Production of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs." She graduated from high school in 1983 and went on to attend Rutgers University in New Jersey. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in 1987 from the Mason Gross School of the Arts.

Breakthrough Roles and Notable Projects

Kristin Davis initially gained recognition for her role as Brooke Armstrong on the television series "Melrose Place." She achieved greater fame playing Charlotte York Goldenblatt in the HBO series "Sex and the City," a role that earned her an Emmy Award nomination. Davis also reprised this character in the film adaptations "Sex and the City" (2008) and "Sex and the City 2" (2010).

Additional film credits include "Deck the Halls" (2006) and "Couples Retreat" (2009). Her work helped solidify her reputation as a talented and versatile actress in both comedic and dramatic roles across television and cinema.
