Lilly Singh was born in the city of Scarborough in Toronto. Her parents are Sukhwinder and Malwinder Singh and they were from Punjab in India. She has been raised as a Sikh and was born with a sister called Tina and she also appears on YouTube channel. While growing up, she said that she was more of a tomboy and went to Mary Shadd Public School in the elementary years and finished the high school at Lester B Pearson Collegiate Institute in the year 2006. In 2010, she finished her studies with the York University and had a Bachelor of Arts degree in the psychology. She developed the strong connection with the Punjabi heritage when she went to visit India. She was struggling with the depression and started to make the videos that she posted to the YouTube in order to deal with her own feelings. According to her biography, she moved from Canada and started to live in Los Angeles of California where she continues to live up to now to extend her career.

Lilly Singh started with a YouTube Channel under the name of IISuperwomanII where she says S was from the S-shaped ring she had during her childhood. She likes to portray Punjabi culture in the video and had a satirical take on the everyday life and the favorite complaints of the people.

Lilly Singh was in the Jassi Sidhu Punjabi song called Hipshaker. She rapped also in the song called Mauj Ki Malharein and played in Bollywood drama called Gulaab Gan. She released a song in collabo with her friend Kanwer Singh called Leh. Lilly Singh is actress and she featured in Dr Cabbie which is an Indo-Canadian production and it is a role that was inspired by her YouTube persona. She was a backup dancer for movies Thank You and Speedy Singhs while is a backup dancer for wedding tour. She is a voice actor of Minicorns in Ice Age: Collision Course. Lilly Singh had a tour called A Trip to Unicorn Island in 2015 and was adapting her YouTube work. Her net worth is 2.5 million dollars. She was included in the people to watch list by People magazine in 2015.
