Lyssa Chapman

Shortly after the marriage, her husband Galanti began to abuse her and used to be violent with her both in public and private. Lyssa tried to go for counseling to save her marriage instead of turning to her family because she was so frightened by the thought that her father might seek to harm her husband and end up going to jail. When Galanti's behaviors showed no changes, she eventually filed for divorce and ended her marriage to Galanti, which lasted only two years.

Behind bars, memoir, and a family accident:

Though Lyssa worked as a bounty hunter for the entirety of her adult life, in 2011, she found herself on the other side of the law as she was arrested in Honolulu, Hawaii. The police arrested Lyssa late one night for causing a public disturbance and harassment. Lyssa claimed to the press that she was drugged when she was arrested.

In 2013, Lyssa released her autobiography, Walking on Eggshells, which depicted her struggle as a kid after being abandoned and treated carelessly by her two divorced parents, both of them addicts. She chronicled her teenage pregnancy, her abusive marriage, the death of her sister, and how she managed to turn all that around and end up having a good relationship with her parents. Lyssa does mention in the book that she still found it challenging to maintain a relationship with her mother due to her drinking problems. However, she reported that her relationship with her father was as good as possible.

In September 2014, Lyssa and her two daughters were involved in a severe car accident in Honolulu, where she lived. Lyssa's black car was destroyed from the front, and all that could be found after the crash was remains and broken pieces. The injuries to the driver and passengers of the car were thankfully minimal.

Motherhood, social contribution, and faith:

Lyssa Chapman devoted a good deal of her energy to be a good mother and a protector to her two daughters, saying that she never wanted to let them go through any hell similar to what she encountered in her own life. She affirmed that she would always try to do her best to be there and protect them. Lyssa also mentioned that her book, Walking on Eggshells, was meant to help other women all over the world who might have gone through or might be going through similar miseries as herself. She hoped that her book would help those women feel better and get through their pain and agony with will, courage, and strength. When Lyssa was asked how she managed to get through and stand tall after all that she had been through and was still going through, she replied by stating that her role model through all her trials was God and that she could never have survived her attempts if it wasn't for her relationship with God. Lyssa Chapman is a woman of faith who believes and has always felt that she is loved by God and that, unlike any mortal partnership, God would never fail to back her up, give her strength and faith, and remain forever by her side.
