Margaret Colin was born in Brooklyn, New York but she was raised in Long Island. After finishing secondary school, she graduated from Baldwin Senior High School in 1976.
Career
Margaret started her acting in career in The Edge of Night which was released in 1956. Her character was a beneficiary and former terrorist militant, with seven homicide attempts. After that aggressive job, she got a nicer job on the popular soap opera, As the World Turns.
On the soap opera, she depicted a character named Margo Montgomery. Margaret's first film appearance were as an educator in John Hughes' teenage romantic drama Pretty in Pink in 1986. She then went on to play a role in Jonathan Demme's Something Wild where she played Irene, the sweetheart to Ray Liotta's character.
In 1987, she had supporting roles in Like Father Like Son and 3 Men and a Baby. Her work on TV shows was the work that made her generally noteworthy in the entertainment business. She kept acting with great parts in Chicago Hope (1994) and The Wright Verdicts (1995).
