Marshall Yanda was born on September 15, 1984. He was born to Ruth and John Yanda. Marshall attended Anamosa High School in Iowa where he was a letterman in football and basketball. He also competed in track and field events such as shot put and discus throwing. He played his first two football seasons for North Iowa Area Community College. He completed his college education at the University of Iowa with a degree in economics.

Marshall Yanda's personal life took a great turn in July 2011 when he got hitched to Shannon Hunt Yanda. The marriage accompanied a turning point in his life because he signed a 5 year deal with the Baltimore Ravens. He and his beautiful wife have been blessed with one daughter and two sons.

Career and Net Worth

Marshall Yanda was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in 2007. Being selected as a third-team All-American by The NFL Draft Report, he then was successful in bagging the position of second-team All-Big Ten honors from the league's coaches. With the Baltimore Ravens in the 2007 season, he played all 16 games with 12 starts. In 2009, Yanda played all 16 games with 9 starts. In 2012, Yanda started 14 games. He had his first NFL championship ring when the Baltimore Ravens proved victorious over the San Francisco 49ers in a Super Bowl matchup.

Marshall had his contract renewed with the Ravens when he signed for $32 million. Marshal Yanda was awarded as the best offensive lineman twice by Pro Football Focus since 2011 and proved himself to be at rank #1 in 2014, 2015, and 2016 seasons. A perfect example in sports of converting weakness into strengths is Marshal Yanda. Despite his shoulder injury, he continued to play. He decided to change his playing style to use his left arm more. It was new to him but he still played at an extremely high level. He continued to be a top guard for that period in NFL. Yanda has been considered as one of the best offensive players in his career. In the 2016 season, Yanda was again hit with a left shoulder injury but he continued playing. The lingering injury caused him to withdraw from playing in the 2017 season.

Marshal Yanda weighed 312 pounds when he strolled off the field for the last time in January 2020. Four months later, the 35-year-old became 60 pounds lighter. Yanda checked in at 245 pounds after following an exercise routine and diet in retirement, the same sum he weighed as a sophomore in high school. He shaved his trademark facial hair, as well, something that truly highlighted the distinction.

Along with his pro football duties, Yanda was also active in charity events hosted by the Baltimore Ravens. In one event, he participated as a celebrity shopper. He arranged hot food for homeless people on Thanksgiving Day. There were also other events where he was found providing basic needy materials to homeless people.
