Marton Csokas

Marton Paul Csokas, popularly known as Marton Csokas, was born in Invercargill, New Zealand on June 30, 1966. His father, Marton Csokas, was a Hungarian mechanical engineer while her mother, Margaret Christine, was a nurse. Margaret was an Australian and her ancestry was known to be Danish, English and Irish. A surprising fact about the actor is that he holds Hungarian as well as New Zealand citizenship. Csokas' father was once a trapeze artist in Hungarian Circus and an opera singer. These were the innate qualities of the actor, who could also sing well and do arts on a trapeze. He was presented with the degree of Bachelor in Arts from Cantebury University in New Zeland. The actor completed his under-graduation from King's College, Aukland. In 1989, he graduated from Toi Whakaari.

The acting career of the 6ft 1inch tall star began with Taki Rua theatre in 1990.  He started with a role in a drama, 'Te Whanau a Tuanj Jones' by the director Apairana Taylor. The theatre helped the actor to make his way to a number of movies and TV shows. His first movie was, 'Jack Brown Genius' in 1996, in which Csokas portrayed the character of 'Dennis'. At first, he worked in a romantic film, 'Broken English'. Then, he also played the character of 'Borias' in a TV series, 'Xena:Warrior Princess' from 1995 to 2001. In 'xXx'(2002), Csokas played a negative character of 'Yorgi' and in 2003, he played 'Mr. Smith' in 'Kangaroo'. He also acted in several popular TV series' and movies such as 'Alice in Wonderland', 'The Tree', 'Pawn', 'The Amazing Spiderman-2', 'The Equalizer' etc.

The New Zealand actor got into relationship with his co-star 'Eva Green' from 'Kingdom of Heaven' in 2005. He lived away from h for three years and then married and shifted to London with his wife in 2008. The actor divorced her in 2009 and moved to Los Angeles.

Csokas' sheer talent has brought him several recognitions. In 2007, the role of 'Romulus' in 'My Father' earned him AACTA Award for Best Actor in a supporting role. In 2008, he won Film Critics Circle of Australia Award for the same role. He was also nominated for his role in 'Dead Europe' in 2013. The wealthy actor has earned a lot through his diligence and perseverance. His net worth is around $4 million, all garnered due to his work.
