He was born in a small township in Pennsylvania in 1980 and American by birth. His elder brother Joey Lawrence is also an actor and noted singer. His younger brother, Andrew Lawrence is also an actor. His father, Joseph Lawrence Sr., worked for an insurance firm. Wife of Joseph Lawrence Sr., Donna Lynn worked as personal manager for some time.

Matthew Lawrence maintained relationships with so many girls from the start of his career. He started dating American actress Heidi Mueller in 2004 and their relation ended with in two years. In 2008, he met popular American dancer Cheryl Burke and they dated for a year. At present, he is dating Laura Jayne who is a model by profession. Most of his well-wishers are hoping that they will get married soon.

Career

His acting career started by playing the role of Danny Carrington Jr. in Dynasty TV series. He made his silver screen debut at the age of seven with the movie Planes, Trains and Automobiles. He played important roles in TV series Drexell's Class, Walter & Emily, Gimme a Break etc. He played the lead role in TV serials Superhuman Samurai Syber-Squad, Brotherly Love and in Boy Meets World.  His role as Chris Hillard in Robin Williams’s Mrs. Doubtfire is the turning point of his film career. He played some important roles in the movies Tales from the Darkside: The Movie, Cheats, The Comebacks etc. He also gave his voice for few films and the way he dubbed for dog’s character in Rusty: A Dog's Tale is quite funny.

Personality

He doesn’t hesitate to act shirtless on screen and his athletic body is a treat to watch. He is five feet eight inches tall and weighs close to 165 pounds. His chest size is 43 inches and biceps size is 13 inches. His waist size is 31 inches and he is always fit and healthy. He always motivates himself and strives hard to make his role look more natural. He is not a media friendly person but whenever he interacts with journalists, he answers their questions with a smile on his face.
