Mekia Cox is an American actress and dancer, born in 1981 in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. When she was seven years old, her family relocated to Orlando, Florida. It was there that she began formal training in the performing arts, pursuing both theater and dance throughout high school and college. Cox also expressed interests in painting and learning to play the guitar during her formative years.

Following her education, Mekia Cox joined a national tour, performing in various musical productions. Her stage presence and talent led to her casting in television roles soon after completing the tour. While still young, she secured roles in several Nickelodeon shows, including a recurring role in the television series Noah Knows Best, which contributed significantly to her early recognition as a child actress. She later completed a degree in music at Florida State University, where she continued to develop her skills as a performer. After graduating, she played the role of Sarah in a stage production of Ragtime.
Dancing Career and Work with Michael Jackson
In addition to her acting pursuits, Mekia Cox built a strong foundation in dance. One of her most notable accomplishments came as a featured dancer for Michael Jackson’s planned “This Is It” concert series. Although the concerts were ultimately canceled due to Jackson's untimely death, Cox appeared in the 2009 documentary film This Is It, which chronicled the rehearsals for the show.
Television and Film Roles
Mekia Cox has established a diverse and successful acting career. She portrayed Sasha in the second and third seasons of the CW series 90210 and held a supporting role in J.J. Abrams' television series Lost. Prior to her work on NBC’s Undercovers, she made appearances in various television shows such as Half & Half, CSI: NY, and season three of One Tree Hill. She also guest-starred in an episode of Bones titled "The Perfect Pieces in the Purple Pond."
