Michele Carey was born as Michele Lee Henson on February 26, 1943 in Annapolis, Maryland. Her father was working as a wrestling teacher at the U.S. Maritime Academy. The family moved to Rochester, Minnesota, where her father continued with his medical studies, later getting to be Fort Collins' first medical specialist.
At an early age Michele turned out to be a piano wonder. She won a national challenge at the Chicago Music Festival at age 13 and performed with the Rochester Symphony Orchestra.

Through her long acting career, Carey appeared in movies in the 1960s and 1970s, and guest-starred in episodes of several popular television series.
Personal Life
Carey married businessman Fred G. Strebel in 1999, and lived with him in Hillsborough and Rancho Mirage. Her husband, Strebel passed away on December 28, 2011.
Michele Carey passed away at the age of 75 years old on November 21, 2018 in Newport Beach, California. Her father, who had been the oldest living NCAA wrestling champion, died prior that year. Her mom passed away in 2016.
