Nancy Snyderman

Nancy Snyderman was born on March the 26th in 1962. Her birth name is Nancy Lynn Snyderman. Her hometown is St. Louis, Missouri in the United States of America. Her family is made by her parents, Joy Snyderman and Sanford Snyderman, and her brother. She lived alongside her family in Ft. Wayne, Indiana when she was growing up. Studies

In 1970 she graduated from South Side High School. That same year she started to pursue her medical career as she started to attend the Indiana University Bloomington. She graduated from that university earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in microbiology. Her studies, then continued when she drifted to Omaha, Nebraska and there studied at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Her efforts there paid in 1977, when the College of Medicine gave her a Doctor of Medicine degree.

After finishing her studies, she moved to Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, where she made her medical residencies. She trained in the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and at the University of Pittsburgh. Her residence was in Otolaryngology and Pediatrics. During her time there she came to consider Eugene Nicholas Myers, the chief of surgery, as her mentor.

Then in 1983, she travelled to Little Rock, Arkansas. While she lived there, she specialized in throat and neck cancer. Her work was as part of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences’ surgical staff.

Then she moved to San Francisco, California in 1988. There she went to the

California Pacific Medical Center and the University of California San Francisco. Attending there, she practiced head and neck surgery.

Television

The year 1984, she started to work for an ABC ‘s affiliated station located in Little Rock, Arkansas. The station is the KATV. From there on she continued to work for ABC for over fifteen years. Her work there varied as she was part of Good Morning America and Primetime.

Then, during her time in San Francisco, California she worked for KPIX-TV. There she served as a medical correspondent.

It was in 2005 that she joined the NBC News as its chief medical editor. In her long years of career there she made appearances with her reports on various shows such as NBC Nightly News, Today, Dateline NBC, and MSNBC. Apart from that, three years after starting, she was the host of Dr. Nancy. This was an MSNBC show. Her work was also varied as she covered both the 2008 Summer Olympics and the 2014 Winter Olympics while serving as a sports reporter for NBC Sports.

During her time at the NBC she opened her own website.

She resigned from her job at NBC after being part of an Ebola related scandal in 2015.

Awards

She has earned much respect and recognition in her long career something that shows with all the awards she has received over the years. This includes Emmy Awards, a Gracie Award, an Edward R. Murrow Awards, and an Alfred I. DuPont Award. The KARK-TV gave her an award for in depth reporting in 1986. The following year, the Associated Press gave her an award for "best documentary".In 1998 the American Academy of Otolaryngology's Head and Neck Surgery Foundation honoured her with the Distinguished Service Award. Among many recent honours, she received the Athena Award from the Partnership for Women's Health at Columbia University for her work in the field of women's health in 2001. That same year she earned the Trailblazer Award from the American Women in Radio and Television.

Other Projects

She has also worked for Johnson & Johnson. There she served as vice president.

In 2005 she became the cofounder of Care Planners.
