In 2004, Clooney entered the political arena, running as a Democratic candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in Kentucky's 4th Congressional District. His campaign focused on issues such as media responsibility, education, and civil rights. Despite being nominated, he was not elected, losing to Republican Geoff Davis by a margin of 44% to 54%.

Humanitarian Efforts and Family
In 2006, Clooney and his son, actor George Clooney, traveled to Darfur, Sudan, to raise awareness about the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the region. The trip resulted in the documentary A Journey to Darfur, which was later broadcast on cable television to increase public awareness of the atrocities occurring there.
Nick Clooney is also the father of Adelia "Ada" Clooney, who married Norman Zeidler in 1987. His family relationships and commitment to public service have remained central themes throughout his life and work.
