Nicky Boje

Nicky Boje was born to a middle-class family on 20 march 1973 in Orange Free state South Africa. He was very inclined toward cricket since his early days. He took to cricketing when he was just 6 yrs old. He was supported by his parents who had the utmost belief that one their son could be in the south facial team. His father wanted to be a cricketer himself and to see his son do what he could be his ultimate desire. He has South African nationality but he got offers to play for other countries as well.

He started off his career by playing for Northamptonshire in 2007. He started as an all rounder but started focussing on batting more as he thought it would be more important for the team. In 2008 he was given the captaincy of the team as his former captain retired from cricket. He then scored 226 which is the highest run scored in a first-class cricket match. Hsi very good forces awarded him a place in the south African team

In 1995 he was selected by the board for the Zimbabwe tour. He went with the team to play however couldn't play any games as he was injured for the most part of the tour. He was included as an allrounder but South Africa team had enough all-rounders and he had to bat at number 8. He was, however, a better batsman than he was thought to be as he had scored very high runs in the first class cricket and performed, however, he was asked to.

He also bowled well when needed. He was brought when the captain needed certain wickets that were not able to bowl out by the main bowler. This breaks the consistency the batsman and he often throws his wicket to the new bowler. This technique has been used by captains from the early days of cricket. He has a very good batting avatar of 32 in Test tat was better than many player in his team at that time but still he wasn't given enough opportunities as all the places were occupied by senior players and to change the batting order to destabilises the team which the coach, as well as the captain, didn't want. He has a batting average of 26 in ODI which was respectable for a newcomer. He did score  ODI centuries in a single series which was against New Zealand and helped South Africa win the series.

Bowling as a part time he even took 100 wickets that last of which was of Jayawardene of Sri Lanka that he took in his last match. In 2006 he took retirement from professional cricket as he wants to get enough chances and him wanted to focus more on his family and business. He is a married man and has two children who live with him in Cape Town at the moment. He is currently managing the local team and also has business to look out for.
