Olivia Colman is an English actress who was born on January 30, 1974, in Norwich, United Kingdom, to her mother Mary who was a nurse and her father Keith Colman who was a surveyor. Colman spent her early years growing up in Norwich and she attended Norwich High School for Girls and Gresham's School in Holt. She first began acting on the stage when she was 16 in the school production of "The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie" where she played Jean Brodie. Colman credits her role in the play for making her realize her passion for acting. Colman went on to study primary teaching at Homerton College, Cambridge for a term before switching to studying drama at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.
She graduated from Bristol in 1999. Colman has had numerous roles in BBC, ITV, and Channel 4 television series including "Bruiser", "People Like Us", "Look Around You", and "The Office". She won a Golden Globe Award for her role as Angela Burr in the AMC/BBC miniseries "The Night Manager" in 2016. Colman married Ed Sinclair in August of 2001 after meeting the law student at Footlights. The pair fell in love at first sight and have had three children together.
