In August of 2018, it was announced that Paige and Eddie would be expecting their second child together. It is going to be Paige’s second baby but Eddie’s 10th baby. Paige was spotted in Los Angeles with a baby bump which the media couldn’t wait to post online. A rep for Eddie Murphy confirmed the speculation to People Magazine, “Eddie Murphy and longtime girlfriend Paige Butcher are pleased to announce that they are expecting their second child in December”.

When Paige was spotted in Los Angeles, she was wearing a floral maxi dress that highlighted her growing belly. She looked very happy and comfortable as she had her hair down and she was even wearing flip fops. She was drinking her Starbucks drink as photographers snapped photos of her. It was a beautiful picture shared online because people were able to see the figure of an upcoming mother. She was leaning back as the dress went over her belly. She was all smiles when she was looking at her phone, she was assumed to be reading a text from Eddie.

With their second baby coming up, people have been wondering why they have not gotten married yet. Some people assume that it is because Eddie has been burned by his previous marriages so he does not want to repeat the same mistake. Marriage can get ugly because assets get tied up. He doesn’t want to risk marriage and divorce that would lead to problems between the two. If they decide to get married, they would have to deal with the touchy subject of signing a pre nup. If he presents it to Paige for her to sign, she could take it as a sign of a lack of trust. If he really loved her, why would he make her sign a contract? If he doesn’t make her sign a pre nup, he puts himself at risk to lose half of all his assets if they ever got a divorce. This is why marriage has not entered the picture for the couple. It doesn’t seem to matter to Paige. She has been very happy in their relationship and will soon be welcoming another child to their family.

Most of Eddie’s previous children are black with black mothers. Some of his black female fans have looked down on his relationship with Paige. Since he is a 50 year old black man with a young white woman in his arms, they see it as him trying to showcase a trophy. They think it sets a bad example for young black men because it will influence them to see white women as the ultimate prize over black women. It doesn’t help that a lot of black athletes end up with white women for wives after dumping the black women that supported them through their journey. On the other hand, people feel that Eddie shouldn’t be judged for dating a white woman. Love has no color lines and Eddie should be able to love any woman he wants regardless of the color of her skin.
