Biography:
Racine is a former model, dancer, and drummer. She was born in December 1977 to an American father and a Thai mother. Her bicultural heritage played a unique role in shaping her artistic sensibility and career outlook.
Racine gained recognition as a drummer and dancer for the American punk gypsy band Gogol Bordello, known for its eclectic style and energetic performances. The band’s name honors Ukrainian writer Nikolai Gogol while “Bordello” refers to a "men's club" in Italian, highlighting the group’s provocative and bohemian influences. She was involved with the band during its rise in the early 2000s, performing at venues across the United States and internationally.
Racine became more widely known in the media as the former partner of actor Elijah Wood. The two met during the filming of the 2005 film Everything Is Illuminated, in which Wood starred. They spent several years together, often seen at public events and private gatherings, though they managed to keep much of their relationship out of the public eye. After more than five years, they amicably parted ways. Media outlets reported their separation following Racine’s absence from promotional events for Wood’s film The Romantics.
