Patricia Manterola

Manterola then made her debut in the acting world in 1993, as an actress with the role in a Mexican soap program called "Dónde Quedó La Bolita?". The program consisted of a comedy show that featured her singing group, Garibaldi. Having already been a model, Manterola also appeared in a few TV ads, including Vanity Fair in 1987.

After departing from Garibaldi in 1994, Manterola's next significant role came with her first solo album, titled "Hambre de Amor," during that same year. The album was an instant success with fans. The success of her debut album was soon followed by even more success with the release of her second album titled "Nina Bonita" in 1996. She was earning the title of "Mexico's Pretty Girl" and many music awards.

With her success in music, many roles in TV shows began to come along a well. These included roles in TV shows such as "Acapulco, Cuerpo y Alma," which aired from 1995 until 1996, and "Gente Bien" in 1997. Appearances in numerous TV commercial ads were also added to Manterola's resume during this time. During her role as "Lorena" in Acapulco, Cuerpo y Alma, Manterol won her first major acting award as "Newcomer of the Year" from Latin America's soap magazine "TV y Novelas."

Her appearance in big-budget movies and TV shows such as "Los Angeles de Charlie," also known as "Charlie's Angels," "Destilando Amor," and "Apuesta por un Amor," also known as "Gamble for Love,' were most popular in Mexico. This also included a host of cameo appearances and guest roles in additional TV shows such as "La Fea Mas Bella," "Muchas Muchachas," and the American hit TV show "Ugly Betty." For Manterola's role in Gamble for Love, she also received another TV y Novelas award for Best Lead Actress. In 1997, Manterola debuted as an actress in the United States with her role in "Souvenir." Then came additional American TV roles, which included "The Hazard City" in 2000, "The Dukes of Hazzard: Hazzard in Hollywood" also in 2000, HBO's "Arliss" in 2001, "The Singer" in 2008, and "The Perfect Game" in 2009.

Today, Patricia Manterol is considered a global success and is one of the most famous stars in Mexico. She has amassed a spectacular collection of work and projects ranging from music albums, TV show appearances, movie roles, talk show host, and talent judge within her 45 years of life than most would ever be able to accomplish in an entire lifetime. Her short and quick rise to fame is due to her strong work ethic, perseverance, and genuine love and passion for the performing arts.

Personal Life

Paty married Javier Ortiz, a fellow ex-member of Garibaldi, on April 17, 1999. Despite this, they divorced in 2005, just over five years later. Manterola and Ortiz addressed their split in a joint letter to the media, requesting that the public respect their privacy during this difficult time. On December 12, 2010, she married Forrest Kolb in Xcaret, Mexico's Mayan Riviera. Nicolas Felizola, a close friend, outfitted her for the wedding held in a modest private ceremony with 200 guests.
