Paul Collingwood was born on May 26, 1976, in County Durham, England. His childhood was spent in County Durham along with his family. Paul’s father’s name is David Collingwood and his mother is Janet Collingwood. Paul had a sibling whose name is Peter.

Paul completed his education at Blackfyne Comprehensive School. Paul was part of the U-13 cricket team at his school and he also played for Shotley Bridge Cricket Club. Paul was really fond of football but he was forced to give up football so that he could concentrate on his future as a cricket player.

Career and Net Worth

Paul started his cricket career with domestic teams before he was later promoted to the first class team. He played several matches and contributed to several victories in his initial years before he was selected for the national team.

Paul also played in the Indian Premier League and he was bought by the Delhi Daredevils. It was reported that he was being paid 275 thousand dollars for the game. He also played for Rajasthan Royals. It was reported that he couldn’t play in the fourth season of IPL because of an injured knee.

In 2001, Paul played his first One Day International match against Australia and Pakistan in a series. His performance was not remarkable but it kept on improving from that point in time. He also played in the 2004 season of Champions Trophy. Later in 2005, he made his debut in test matches after playing a match against Pakistan. Paul also played for England in the 2007 World Cup.

In 2011, Paul revealed that he was retiring from the game of cricket. After his retirement, he took up the job of a coach with the team of England. He later worked for Scotland as a coach.

Paul holds a couple of records under his name. He scored a total of 10 centuries in test cricket. Paul had been awarded the honor of Man of the Match 17 times. Paul was also honored by the award of Player of the Year in the year 2000. In 2007, Paul was also honored with the award of Wisden Cricketer of the Year. The award was given to him because of his amazing performance and always improving scores.
