African American actor Paul James, a B.A. graduate from Syracuse university, is best known for portraying the role of Calvin Owens, a sharp and confident gay student and jock (initially secretly gay who later opens up about his orientation and relationships) who is comfortable being a gay at CRU in Greek, an American comedy drama television series which chronicles the lives of students at CRU and it's Greek system (fraternities). Masculine gay student, Calvin is one of the first friends of the main character Rusty in the university.
Calvin initially joins more sophisticated fraternity "Omega Chi Delta (known for academics, athletic and networking)", but ends of being on the doorstep of the black sheep of CRU "Kapp Tau Gamma" with his friend Rusty.
Awesomely, Paul got nominated in the "Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series" category by Image Award for his character Calvin.

Paul got his career breakthrough role in Greek when he was an employee in Santa Monica located P.F. Chang's, a family friendly Asian chain specializing in modern Asian cuisine.
Surely, Paul was an experience employee for the chain, but he was sometimes a late one. Paul sometimes used to go late for work because of his acting auditions. However, the owners of the restaurant were generous enough in understanding Paul's dreams.
Nicely behaved and sociable in nature, Paul with three years of working experience at Chang, initially gets discovered by a casting director named Johnny Barba.
