Paulo Costa is known as a Brazilian mixed martial artist. He is most famous for fighting in the middleweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship and for defeating top contender, Yoel Romero.
Paulo Henrique Costa was born on April 21, 1991 in Belo Horizonte, State of Minas Gerais, Brazil. He got his Borrachinha nickname from his more established sibling who felt he was like the elastic man. Paulo Costa was a real estate agent before he started battling. He started stepping his way into Mixed Martial Arts when he was captivated by it in 2012.
Paulo's height is 6'1'' and weight is 186 pounds.
When Costa started his Mixed Martial Arts career, he burned through no time in proving himself to be a fine contender. He progressed toward becoming Mineiro hero of Jiu-jitsu, MMA Face to Face Event Middleweight champ, and a winner of the Jungle Fight Event. It wasn't an unexpected when he was picked to battle in The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 3. As Paulo's performance in the UFC-produced reality series was exceptional, it cleared a path for his UFC debut in 2017.
After he made an excellent passage to the UFC by crushing McLellan, The Eraser proceeded to battle Oluwale Bamgbose. He triumphed over the Nigerian-American through TKO in the second round. Paulo and UFC would come to have a little budgetary issue over another contract agreement. This was settled after he battled and beat Johny Hendricks. Costa's UFC record shows that he stayed undefeated as he has won all his 12 battles, 11 by means of knockouts (including Uriah Hall) and one by decision.
In August 2019 at UFC 241, Paulo Costa had his biggest test in his career when he was matched up with Yoel Romero who had a long layoff because of a drug test controversy. The decision victory went to Costa which caused the fans to flood the arena with loud boos. It was a close fight but the fans were angry when the fan favorite Yoel did not get the decision of the judges. When Costa tried to give his post fight interview, he had to wait a few minutes for the crowd to quiet down before he could start speaking about his performance. Costa is now expected to get the next title shot at Middleweight.
Costa is not currently married and has no children. He focused on his career and doesn't seem to have any plans to start a family yet. Costa is active in Instagram and has about 455,000 followers.
