Early Life and Education

Peter Krause was born on August 12, 1965, in Minnesota. He earned a degree in English Literature from Gustavus Adolphus College and went on to receive a Master of Fine Arts degree in Acting from New York University’s Graduate Acting Program at the Tisch School of the Arts.

Television Career Beginnings

Krause began his television career in the early 1990s with various guest roles. He appeared on shows such as Carol & Company (1990), Beverly Hills, 90210 (1992), Seinfeld (1992), Ellen (1994), Caroline in the City, Brotherly Love, If Not for You, The Great Defender, and Cybill (1995). His resume continued to grow with appearances on The Drew Carey Show (1996) and 3rd Rock from the Sun (1997), among others.

Film Appearances

Krause made his film debut in the 1987 slasher film Blood Harvest. He later acted in several independent and feature films, including Lovelife (1996), Melting Pot (1998), The Truman Show (1998), and My Engagement Party (1998). His work in short films includes It's a Shame About Ray (2000), where he played the character Mr. Hanks. More recent film projects include We Don't Live Here Anymore (2004), Civic Duty (2006), Beastly (2011), and Night Owls (2016).
