Rebecca De Mornay (real name Rebecca Jane Pearch) was born on August 29, 1959 in Santa Rosa, California. Her parents were George Walter Pearch and Julie Eagar. Her father worked as a radio and television commentator. Her parents divorced when she was a little girl and later she even took a stepfather's surname, De Mornay. There is quite a little information about her childhood, siblings and family. She spent a lot of her early years in Great Britain, when she attended Summerhill School in Leiston. Afterwards, she moved back to the United States and decided to start her acting career. Since then she studied at the Lee Strasberg Institute in the New York.

She has made her first screen appearance in the 1981, playing understudy in the movie “One from the Heart”. Her first notable role comes two years after, when she played Lana in the movie “Risky Business”. In the same year she portrayed Cathy Pitkin character in the film “Testament”.

In the 1985 she played Debby Palmer in the “The Slugger's Wife” and appeared in the music video "Sara" by Starship band. In the 1985 she also appeared in both projects “Runaway Train” and “The Trip to Bountiful”. During the 80s she has made her brilliant appearances in numerous movies like “Beauty and the Beast”, “And God Created Woman”, “The Murders in the Rue Morgue”, “Feds” and “Dealers”.

She played the role of Helen McCaffrey in the movie “Backdraft”. In the 1991 she played both Peyton Flanders and Mrs. Mott in the film “The Hand That Rocks the Cradle”. She even received MTV Movie Award for Best Villain. In the 1993 she appeared as a Milady de Winter in the “The Three Musketeers”. In the same year she played Linda Kaines in the television film “Blind side”. In the 1999 Rebecca has made her appearances in such works like “Thick as Thieves” and “A Table for One”. She played Derian McCall in the movie “The Right Temptation”. She appeared in 5 episodes of “ER” as Elaine Nichols.

During the early 2000s she appeared in such movies like “Wedding Crashers”, “Raise Your Voice”, “Lords of Dogtown”, “American Venus” and “Music Within”. Recently, she played Vivian Hill in the movie “I Am Wrath”. Rebecca portrayed Cissy Yost in the television series “John from Cincinnati”. In the 2015 she played Dorothy Walker in the TV series “Jessica Jones”.

She was married to Bruce Wagner, who is known as a writer. The couple tied their married knot in the 1986. Four years later they got to divorce. Afterwards, she dated with Leonard Cohen, who is a singer. She also was a co-producer for his music album. She also had relations with Patrick O'Neal, with whom she has two daughters, named Sophia and Veronica. There are no more details about her personal life, it seems like she is a single now. She is a very down to earth woman and has avoided controversies because of this reason. Her net worth is about 9 million dollars.
