Rece Davis grew up in Alabama and graduated from University of Alabama in 1988. He earned the Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Affairs and Broadcast News. When he was a student, he was working like a freelance television play by play announcer, radio personality, studio host at different selected media outlets within the entire state. These were positions that were unpaid internship. He started the career working as general assignment reporter of WCFT-TV in Alabama. In the year 2001, he was named to be an outstanding alumnus of University of Alabama in School of Communication and Information Science.

From his biography, when he graduated from Alabama, he worked in different position on WRBL-TV in Columbus Georgia and in the local news network. He was a sport reporter and a lead weekend news anchor and after sometime, he worked as a sports director of WRBL. Davis went to Georgia for the media market in flint Michigan. He started to work as the news anchor and as a reporter of WJRT-TV. This is the place where he gained the attention of ESPN.

Davis went to Bristol, in Connecticut where he began working at the ESPN2 program called SportSmash and he was providing the reports about the sports news with their score. Davis Hosted NBA 2Night of ESPN2. He was a studio host of the ESPN weekend RPM 2Night for Sunday Morning RPM 2 Day program.  Davis went ahead and anchors the programs of ESPN personalities. He frequently reported the Extra Point report about The Dan Patrick Show at the ESPN radio from time to time by being a guest host at the program. Davis worked at SportsCenter, College basketball and College football for the network. He was the host of horse racing telecast for Triple Crown season.

Rece Davis is married to Leigh.  They were working in one Georgia outlet and his wife was in ad department. To talk to her, Rece pretended that he did not know how he would send the fax and this is where the conversation started between them. They started to date right away and afterwards, they got married. They have a son called Christopher who enrolled at Princeton, and he plays baseball there. He has also a daughter called Elizabeth. Her parents are Jerry Davis and Janice Davis. Even if his salary was not recorded, his net worth is estimated to be over 1.5 million dollars.
