Richard Rawlings had passion for automobiles from his childhood. He bought his very first automobile at the age of 14. In his childhood, he used to attend the car shows with his father and constructed the automobiles there. At the age of 20 he graduated from the Eastern Hills High School. In the beginning of his career, he worked as a law enforcement officer. He also worked as the paramedics and firefighter. It seems like business and entrepreneurship was the passion of Richard. At first he tried his luck in the business of printing and advertising. He had his own press named as the Lincoln Press; actually it was his passion for automobile business that made him to do something related to it.

Gas Monkey Garage

Gas monkey Garage was launched in the year 2002. In order to make sure that this business set up works for longer, Richard had to sell his Lincoln Press in 2004. Richards gave his full time to the project. Gas monkey Garage, made the automobiles and sold them to the world over. This not only attracted the attention of customers but also reality TV channels that wanted to air the success of business and its operations. His company the Gas Monkey Bar N’ Grill is located in the Northwest. The location is second to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. Richard plans to open another location for his business outside the Dallas Metropolitan. Apart from this, Gas Monkey Live is a related business project. This is a venue to hold musical concerts and other such events. Gas Monkey Live was opened in Oct, 2014.

Richard seems to be much impressed from his father. He had to work for so many jobs, in order to fund for the very first automobile he wants to have. He wrote his autobiography narrating all his struggles of the life. There is a world record for cannonball run on his credit. He covered 2811 miles from New York to Los Angeles. The travel was completed in 31 hours and 59 minutes. On average, Richard had traveled 87.6 miles per hour. His very first car was 74 Mercury Comet and Richard was much passionate about it.
