Robert Earl Keen was born in the year 1956 and he is a singer songwriter and also live entertainer of American origins and he lives in Central Texas. He started to sing in the year 1984 with the song No Kinda Dancer. He recorded 18 full length albums in both independent or major records label and the songs had been covered by many artists around the entire country including Texas country music scenes such as in the Dixie Chicks, in Nanci Griffith, in Highwaymen, Lyle Lovett, Joe Ely and George Strait.

Robert Earl is known in bluegrass, rock, country and folk but he is more known in Americana movements. He has toured both internationally and nationality within his entire career and he has been heralded to be the Lone Star State who is more acclaimed as a musical ambassador and this led him to be inducted to Texas Heritage Songwriter of Hall of Fame in the year 2012 together with Lovett and also Townes Van Zandt.

From his biography, Robert Earl was born in the Southwest of Houston and his father is a geologist while the mother works as attorney. He was born with an older brother and also a young sister. He went to Sharpstown High School and he graduated in the year 1974. When he was young, he liked to read and he was good in literature and writing classes and he was the fan of cram and English rock band and this was from the influence of the older brother who liked country music from Willie Nelson. However, his young sister had been the one who introduced him to Houston Music Scene in early seventies.

Robert Earl went to Texas A&M University at College Station and he graduated with the English Bachelor of Arts. He started to write the songs and to play bluegrass and the folk music with the friends that included childhood buddies.

 

In the year 1980, Robert Earl graduated from the University and he performed in the nightclubs in the Austin music venues such as in Cactus Café or in Gruene Hall near the city of Braunfels and he was able to build a solid following. In 1983, he won a prestigious competition at Kerrville Folk Festival. When he started to move outside of the city, he moved with his wife called Kathleen to go to Tennessee and was encouraged by Steve Earle.

Robert Earl has a net worth of 5 million and he had a career that goes beyond 18 and the first album called No Kinda Dancer and there was one song called the Front Porch Song and its lyrics were co-written by Lyle Lovett.
