Rosie Mercado

Growing up, Rosie was one of only five Latino students at her high school and faced bullying due to her weight. Despite these challenges, she pursued higher education and earned a degree in Business Management from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, following in the footsteps of her entrepreneur father.

Career in Media and Modeling

Rosie initially began her career behind the camera as a photographer. However, she was encouraged to explore modeling and eventually stepped in front of the camera. Facing frequent remarks about her weight from industry insiders, she remained committed to representing body diversity and promoting plus-size modeling.

Her determination led to her appearance in NuvoTV’s "Curvy Girls," a reality show centering on the lives of plus-size models. She also gained attention for her feature on National Geographic Channel’s "Taboo" in 2011, where her journey and perspectives added to discussions about societal norms and physical appearance.

Television Appearances and Life Coaching

Beyond modeling, Rosie has developed a strong television presence. She has worked as a red-carpet correspondent and provided voiceover work for various media outlets. Her career further expanded into daytime television, where she became a contributing life coach on shows like "The Doctors" and "Dr. Phil."

She also co-hosted the CBS talk show "Face the Truth" alongside Dr. Phil, offering insights into personal development, relationships, and self-empowerment. Through her media appearances, Rosie continues to advocate for body positivity and mental wellness.
