Rosie Mercado is an American plus-size model and television personality. She starred in Curvy Girls on NuvoTV and was featured on National Geographic Channel's Taboo.
Rosie was born in Los Angeles, California but was raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her parents are both Mexican. She was one of only five Latinos at her high school and was bullied because of her weight. She received a Business Management degree from the University of Las Vegas, following the footsteps of her entrepreneur father.
She began as a photographer before being encouraged to move in front of the camera. She was often told that if she lost weight she would be more marketable. She spent time doing red carpet interviews and voiceover work before being featured on National Geographic's Taboo in 2011. Rosie is currently a life coach on The Doctors and Dr. Phil and a co-host alongside Dr. Phil for Face the Truth on CBS. She has a novel under publishing company Harper Collins One releasing in 2019.
Rosie remains in Las Vegas, Nevada with her three children.
