Film Career

Sammi Hanratty began her career in entertainment by appearing in two Pringles commercials at a very young age. Her transition to the big screen started in 2006 when she portrayed Celia in Hello Sister, Goodbye Life. That same year, she landed roles in three other films: Stephen King's Desperation, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, and The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause.

In 2007, she played young Laura in the horror sequel Boogeyman 2, followed by a part in the action film Hero Wanted (2008). The year 2009 saw her in four films: An American Girl: Chrissa Stands Strong, Finding Bliss, Within, and the animated adaptation of A Christmas Carol.

Her momentum continued in 2010 with performances as Kayla Fairmont in Magic, Gretel in Jack and the Beanstalk, and Barbie Klepack in Kalamity. She starred in The Greening of Whitney Brown in 2011 and in the faith-based drama Amazing Love in 2012. The following year proved prolific, with appearances in The Lost Medallion: The Adventures of Billy Stone, Second Chances, and The Christmas Spirit. In 2014, she played Zoe in the family comedy Moms’ Night Out. In 2015, she featured in Seeds of Yesterday, and in 2016, she appeared in the teen thriller Bad Kids of Crestview Academy.

Breakthrough Role in Zoe Gone

Among her various film roles, Hanratty’s standout performance came in the 2014 drama Zoe Gone, where she took on the lead role of Jennifer Lynne. The film tells the emotional story of a teenage mother who initially struggles with the idea of raising her baby. After ultimately deciding to keep her child, tragedy strikes when the baby is kidnapped. Jennifer’s transformation and emotional depth, driven by maternal instinct, earned praise for Hanratty’s compelling portrayal.
