Shalita Grant was born on August 28, 1988 in Baltimore, Maryland. Shalita Grant was brought up in Petersburg, Virginia and went to secondary school at the Baltimore School for the Arts in Maryland where she was a YoungArts Winner in Theater and Presidential Scholar in the Arts. At the age of 17, she got a grant to go to the Julliard School for her Bachelor’s Degree in Drama. She ended up graduating from the prestigious performance art college in 2010.
Career
In the first debut season of NCIS: New Orleans (2014), her job as former ATF turned NCIS Agent Sonja Percy, was recurring. She then got promoted to a series regular toward the beginning of the second season because of her excellent work.
She got more fame as the slave, Aurelia Johnson, in the PBS unique Civil War miniseries, Mercy Street (2016). Her TV guest star credits include The Good Wife (2009), Battle Creek (2015), Bones (2005), and Melissa and Joey (2010).
